After receiving orthodontic treatment, although the teeth have been aligned, there are actually many patients who still want to improve the appearance and have a more beautiful smile. Dr. Ye Liwei, a specialist in dental implants and periodontics at the Modern Dental Digital Dental Implant Center of the Modern Dental Medical System, pointed out that in addition to white and translucent teeth, the shape and proportion of the teeth and the curve of the gums also play an important role in a happy smile.
Ye Liwei said that in order to create a beautiful and harmonious smile, one should not only focus on the partial teeth, but also need to consider the overall aspect. With the advancement of medical technology, water laser has developed water laser gum beauty-related treatments, such as water laser gum micro-shaping, gum whitening, etc., so that you can no longer hide your smile.
Ye Liwei shared that a female patient, about 40 years old, had orthodontics and general dental treatments many years ago due to uneven tooth alignment. She also had dental implants due to missing teeth. An intraoral examination revealed that although corrections had been made, the shape and color of the teeth had room for improvement, and there were obvious gaps in the lower front teeth. This was a result of the shape of the teeth themselves and gum recession. It was an aesthetic problem that could not be solved by pure orthodontic treatment.
In order to stabilize the patient's periodontal condition, the doctor uses minimally invasive water laser to treat periodontal disease. In view of the aesthetic issues of the teeth, after a series of analysis and data collection, we found that the midline position of the teeth has shifted. Although the teeth on the upper and lower jaws are straight from the inside of the mouth, they are not in the center of the face from the outside.
Ye Liwei explained that crown augmentation surgery is one of the treatments to improve the gum curve. Traditional crown augmentation surgery uses a blade to incise the gums, then trims the alveolar bone with a high-speed rotating drill and surgical instruments, and then uses sutures to close the wound. The recovery period of this surgical method will be longer, but now we use "water laser" to perform "water laser minimally invasive crown augmentation surgery" without incision in the gums. It can be directly trimmed from the gingival sulcus to the underlying alveolar bone without incision or suturing. Therefore, the wound is small, the postoperative recovery can be rapid, and swelling is not easy.
Because minimally invasive water laser crown augmentation is used, the gums recover faster. After the gums stabilize, the treatment of all-ceramic veneers and all-ceramic crowns and braces can be started. Doctors, dental technicians and patients fully communicate with each other to provide a treatment plan suitable for the patient, and then use high-tech equipment to produce each denture with stable quality. The entire treatment process is complemented by software technology and hardware equipment, and ultimately allows the patient to obtain a bright, white and confident smile. With a team of professional dental technicians and a fast and accurate digital process, the shape adjustment and fitting of the ceramic veneer only takes one day.
